Terms of Use
In effect from 10 September 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Afra Infotech, who operate QRWiner. By using the app you accept them. If you do not, do not use the app.
Who can play
You must be at least 13 years old and hold one account. Creating several accounts to improve your chances is grounds for losing all of them. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
Playing is free
QRWiner never charges you to play, and you never have to buy anything from a shop to enter a hunt, scan a code, or collect a prize. Any shop that makes a purchase a condition of collecting is breaking these terms, and you should report it in the app. Shops pay us for the time their hunt runs; that is the only money in the system.
How winning is decided
Each printed code can be won once, by the first person to scan it successfully. Success is decided by our servers, not by your phone: the hunt must be running, you must be inside the shop, your location must be genuine, and your device must pass its integrity check. Where two people scan at the same moment, exactly one wins. Our record of that decision is final.
Collecting your prize
A win gives you a short redemption code in the app. Read it out to the shop and they enter it, which is what records the handover. Collect within the window shown on the win; after it expires the shop is no longer obliged to give you the prize. If a shop refuses to hand over a prize you won, report it in the app — reports count against a shop's public trust score.
Fair play
You must not share, photograph or publish a code for someone else to use, falsify your location, run the app on a modified or emulated device, use more than one account, or interfere with the app or our servers. Doing any of these voids the wins involved and can block your account and your device permanently.
Hunting safely
Codes are hidden in areas customers are allowed to be. Do not enter staff-only areas, storerooms or toilets, do not climb, do not move or damage stock or fittings, and do as shop staff ask. Obey the law and the road while you are travelling to a hunt. You hunt at your own risk and are responsible for your own safety.
Prizes come from the shop
The shop chooses the prize, owns it, and hands it over. We are not the seller and we do not warrant a prize's quality, fitness or value. Where a prize turns out to be misdescribed or is never handed over, we can act against the shop — reduce its trust score, suspend it, remove it — but we do not ourselves owe you the prize. Any tax on a prize is yours to deal with.
If you run a shop
You must have your shop verified before running a hunt, and you must be entitled to run one at that address. You buy prize time in advance; it is credit for running hunts, is not money, is not transferable, and is not exchangeable for cash. Unused time stays in your wallet. Time is spent when a hunt is booked and returned only if it is cancelled before it starts.
What a shop must do
Hide every printed code somewhere a customer can reach during your opening hours, describe the prize honestly, hand it over to whoever presents a valid redemption code, and never require a purchase. Do not offer alcohol, tobacco or vaping products, weapons, medicines, adult goods, live animals, lottery tickets, or anything you may not lawfully give away. We may refuse or remove a hunt at our discretion.
What you upload
You keep ownership of photographs and text you upload, and you give us permission to show them where the app needs to — a shop logo on a map pin, a prize photograph on a hunt. Do not upload anything you do not have the right to use.
Suspension
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, that we reasonably believe is being used to cheat, or where the law requires it. A shop suspended mid-hunt has its running hunts cancelled; time already spent on a hunt cancelled for a breach is not returned.
What we are and are not responsible for
The app is provided as it is. We do not promise it will always be available, that a hunt will be near you, or that you will win anything. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses, for anything that happens to you while travelling to or inside a shop, or for a prize a shop fails to provide. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.
Changes
We may change these terms. The date at the top changes with them, and a significant change is announced in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use QRWiner after that means you accept the new version.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates, and its courts have jurisdiction over any dispute.
